NAMI Programs

Across the country, thousands of trained NAMI volunteers bring peer-led programs to a wide variety of community settings, from churches to schools to NAMI Affiliates. With the unique understanding of people with lived experience, these education classes and support groups provide outstanding free education, skills training and support. 

 


Education Classes


NAMI Basics is a class for parents and other family caregivers of children and adolescents who have either been diagnosed with a mental health condition or who are experiencing symptoms but have not yet been diagnosed.

NAMI Family-to-Family is a class for families, partners and friends of individuals with mental illness. The course is designed to facilitate a better understanding of mental illness, increase coping skills and empower participants to become advocates for their family members.

De Familia-a-Familia es un programa que ayuda a transformar a la familia desde la desesperación y el aislamiento (ofreciendo esperanza y apoyo) hasta llegar a superar las enfermedades del cerebro.

NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a 10 week recovery education course open to anyone experiencing a mental health challenge. The course is designed to encourage growth, healing and recovery among participants.

Support Groups

(Note: Support groups are not open to nursing students for observation. Please attend our monthly General Meetings instead.) 


 

NAMI Connection is a weekly support group for people living with a mental health condition. 

 

Meets every Monday from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Our NAMI Family Support Group meets twice a monthly. The Group is intended for family members, partners and friends of individuals living with a mental illness. No pre-registration required; walk- ins are welcome. 

 

 

 

2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month (except for holidays)

NAMI FaithNet is an interfaith resource network of NAMI members, friends, clergy and congregations of all faith traditions who wish to encourage faith communities who are welcoming and supportive of persons and families living with mental illness. NAMI FaithNet strives to encourage welcoming, caring congregations as well as to promote the vital role of spirituality in the recovery journeys of many who live with mental health conditions, those for whom faith is a key component. Nondenominational; all faiths are welcome. 

 

 

The NAMI FaithNet Support Group is restarted on May 16. At the inaugural meeting we will hold an open discussion on the best structure and format for the group going forward. Snacks and drinks will be available. Attendance is free of cost. Please invite a friend/family member.
