NAMI Basics is a 6-session class for parents, caregivers, and other family members who provide care for youth (ages 22 or younger) who are experiencing mental health symptoms. This program is free to participants, 99% of whom say they would recommend the program to others.
The in-person course is taught by a trained team with lived experience raising a child with a mental health condition. They know what you’re going through because they've been there too.
The course consists of six classes, each lasting for 2 ½ hours. Classes may be offered weekly for six consecutive weeks, or may be offered twice per week for three weeks to accommodate schedules of parents. All instruction materials are FREE to participants. The goals of the program are:
