On October 5th, 2019, we celebrated the "Sweet 16" NAMIWalks LA County, Southern California's largest mental health awareness and fundraising event. It was our largest and most successful mental health awareness and fundraising event in the county held to date.
Thousands joined the movement to raise awareness of mental illness and raise funds for our mission to help individuals and families right here in our region. Thank you for your participation in making waves in mental health!
You can still support us as we improve lives and our communities one step at a time. Donations will be accepted until mid December.
Participants can qualify to earn special prizes; donations for them must be posted to your fundraising page 30 days after the Walk.
We invited you to join us, help and have fun, and you did!
Through your efforts and those of many volunteers, NAMI Long Beach raised nearly $15,000 from corporate sponsors and individual donations. The funds we raise will allow us to hold weekly office hours, improve our voicemail response times, and expand our peer activities.
We are especially grateful for the many hours of hard work put in Walk Co-Managers and former Board Members Elizabeth Rodriguez and Ellie Wolk. They took on the epic tasks of organizing the LA County-wide Kick Off Party, leading our corporate fundraising efforts, as well as managing more than 200 volunteers on the day of the Walk.
Thank you volunteers for making this event possible. We could not have done it without you!
There are multiple ways you can make a difference with NAMIWalks: as a sponsor, committee member, team captain, team member, individual walker, or volunteer!
However you participate in NAMIWalks, you will be joining NAMI's movement to raise awareness of mental illness and raise funds for our mission to help individuals and families right here in Los Angeles County.
